 The Thrift Side

My name is Kate, and I’m a Thrift Addict. Sustainable Thrift was born in 2018 out of my love of clothing, adventure, and intense desire to avoid toxic consumerist behavior. The fashion industry and their “Fast Fashion” is the second leading polluter in the world. According to ThredUp, “32 billion garments are produced for the US market each year and 64% of them end up in landfill”. Every bit of clothing sold second hand reduces the amount of textiles entering landfills, and cuts down on the demand for new clothes that large corporations rely upon.

Sustainable Thrift outfits you to go out and adventure in the world we are fighting to protect. “If everyone in the US bought just one item used instead of new this year, it would save nearly 6 billion pounds of carbon emissions - the equivalent of taking over half a million cars off the road for an entire year”. Our mission is to impact the mass amounts of textile waste being produced by encouraging people to buy second hand. Help us make the Earth we love a little cleaner one piece of clothing at a time.

Live Adventurously, Live Sustainably.
